Never again

So I'm into day 5 of 12 of my detox and I feel like drowning myself in a vat of melted chocolate. I feel like CRAP. I don't know how some people can do a detox twice a year - seriously not fun. I will stick it out but I will NEVER EVER do this to myself again.

I bet. I've never tried one of the detoxes myself, but i'm sure it's no picnic. I doubt i'd even be able to pull off a vegetarian diet, I definitely feel weaker when I have a lower protein intake..( not to start a debate with any vegetarians out there, just my personal opinion). On a side note, will you be able to blog through conventional channels over there or have to set up a VPN etc? I couldv'e sworn I saw an article somewhere stating there were some internet blocking issues similar to those put in practice in China to curtail public access to sites deemed contrary to the public good..so to speak.Unfortunately I didn't have the presence of mind to bookmark the link. And finally, there's to be a new blog.. where... either i'm tired or blind..don't see the URL and I definitely want to continue to follow your adventures. lol

Ps..It's a shame to hear that they blew the latest Harry Potter installment. You're far from alone in your assessment, i've heard similar opinions from others. You'd think that of all the movies to screw up, this wouldn't be one. By now they should have the formula down, what a waste. There's so little made these days that's worth seeing, butchering a good one really sucks. I'm hoping that when "The Hobbit" comes out, it's done with as much skill and attention to detail as the LOTR trilogy.

Yup there won't be any issues with blogging in the UAE - they do ban Skype but if you have it on your computer before you get there it's okay - they just ban the page where you can download the program. There are loads of UAE blogs so I'm sure it won't be a problem :)

As for Harry Potter - Man I can't believe all the awesome reviews it's been getting! Clearly the people writing those reviews have NOT read the book. The Goblet of Fire was the last good Potter flick. As for The Hobbit - is Peter Jackson doing it? If so I'm sure it will be great.

Thanks for the link. A while back I read a pretty matter of fact explanation by someone in film production of just why so many books never make the successful transition to the screen. Sadly, it's just a simple matter of the almighty dollar. The longer a movie is (thus containing more of the details a book would convey and appease those with expectations based upon their read) the less the amount of showings that can be fit into a day. A movie with a length along the lines of an hour and a half can generate twice as much income as a 3 hour epic. Although you'd think they'd take into account that a series that's already generated such a rabid following won't have that issue. If not taking books and blowing the interpretation , they're re-making classing and destroying the legacy. Look at "Land of the Lost". A film that held a little nostalgia for myself as it brought on a bit of nostalgia for childhood Saturday mornings. Complete f*ck up. Rather than take it in aan adventure direction like an early Indiana Jones, they made it into a Will Ferrell shit-show. Nothing against Ferrell , but there are plenty of opportunities for mindless comedy geared towards 16 year-olds and a missed opportunity to generate a classic in the adventure genre. Just another mutilation.
I'm thinking i'll read the H.P. book again and refresh my memory before watching the film although that just might make me more aware of the missing parts and lead to irritation rather than enjoyment.
Ps..I considered that master cleanse thing for a brief minute. Sounds great, rid my body of all the "toxins" in ten days, feel invigorated and brimming with energy, fantastic. Then I thought, "Lemonade and maple syrup for two weeks? Yeah, right".

Yikes lemonade and maple syrup for 2 weeks??!! That's nuts! The detox I'm doing is nothing like that..I can eat but I can't have any flour, dairy, sugar, or foods with high contents of acid (vinegar). I have 5 days left.

I read the HP book again before I went to see the flick and I think that made me dislike the film even more! :)
